We have been listening to this fun phonics song from Leap Frog during snack times in class! The children are loving it - what a great way of learning while singing. Play it at home in order to strengthen the letter sounds and names! Happy Listening :)

End of Unit Celebration in writing and so much more!

WRITERS WORKSHOP
Hooray! We have graduated to becoming writers! KG2 C had their first end of unit celebration (with popcorn and fanfare!) where the children read their 'books' to the audience! The lights were dimmed and they draped the 'Author's Cape' and narrated their stories to a room full of keen listeners! It was the children's first experience speaking in front of an audience, and I have to say- they NAILED IT! More power to these writers as they grow through the year! Woohoo!

In Math, the students learned about the TRICKY TEENS! And since that day, have been spotting them everywhere in school! They enjoyed playing the 'Teen Tangle' game and got all twisted and tangled while trying to reach out for the teen numbers!

The children are having fun at Maker Space time during the week. They have engaged in group games, creative art, building structures etc. Along with improving cognitive skills- maker space is a time of the day where the children work on social and life skills like working in a group, taking turns, sharing materials and following rules.
KG2 C students have come a long way in working in group dynamics and being part of a partnership! Way to go KG2C!!

Parent Teacher Conference!
Another week goes by!

The fun continues at KG2 C!
So much has been going on in KG2C!

In Math, we have been discovering, exploring and playing with 2-D shapes and the children are now familiar with a 'Hexagon' and a 'Trapezoid'.
We have also been working with patterns- both simple and complex! The children worked on recreating the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and extended the increasing pattern in the story by 'feeding' the caterpillar food of their own choice!

We kicked off our Readers' Workshop and the students went around the school as well as in the classroom to look for words that they could read. ALREADY, they are using their fingers to track the words from left to right as well as making words connections with pictures. Way to go KG2C!
