Learning Continues in KG2 C!

We continue to march forward into the next month with more learning and fun! Moving on from 2D Shapes into 3D Shapes- we explored their attributes and experimented whether they roll, stack or slide. We recorded our finding and tabulated them on to a chart.

Also, we introduced the concept of Skip Counting by 2 and the children used number lines to show their understanding of the concept.

In Guided Reading, the children read and watched the story "Elmer". It is about the adventure of an elephant with patchwork on him and what he does about it. After watching, the children retold the story and put the pictures in sequence showing their understanding of the concept of 'beginning, middle and ending' of a story. Way to go everyone!

Goldie and the aquarium!

In STEM, we have been learning about the fish! Its parts of the body, habitat and how to take care of them! We have a new addition to the class family. I proudly present to you- GOLDIE (the goldfish)! It has certainly caught everyone's attention since the first day. We have children popping in to say 'Good Morning' to Goldie in the morning and making sure it is 'moving' in its little aquarium through the day.

The children made fish using clay and art materials! They made sure to add scales, fins, gills, eyes, mouth and a tail to their creation. Now we will work on getting an aquarium for their fish! :)

And their fish found a home! KG2 C worked EXTREMELY hard at creating an aquarium for their 'fish'. They painted and they pasted with glue, paper, pipe cleaners! They added sand, shells and made pebbles out of clay! It was a fun morning where they let their creativity juices flow! A lot of hard work was seen along the way! Great work KG2C!

What a fun 100th Day!

It was cold start to the day- but a cozy 100th Day assembly followed by warm celebration through the day cancelled the cold outside! The children made 100th day puppets and we took pictures to see how they would like when they were 100 years old! This was followed by a celebration they shared with their mothers! They showed off their skills of counting by 5's and 10's. Together, the mother-child duo filled up a bag with 100 snacks and made a headband with 100 objects on it! That is a LOT of work but great fun along the way. :) Way to go KG2 C Family! I loved every bit of it and I hope you all did too!
The 100th Day parade in the end was the perfect finish to an amazing day!
